Cuba is our favourite holiday destination.
Stunning white-sand beaches, an appealing climate, captivating natural sights, lively music and, of course, Mojitos, what more could we ask for? We feel almost at home there.
This time, we visited Hotel Playa Pesquero in Holguin – a Cuban 5 star hotel located directly on Playa Pesquero beach. In my view, this hotel offers one of the best options for a wedding destination, with couples offered a privacy many other venues cannot match. The gorgeous beach offers plenty of choice in terms of wedding and ‘trash the dress’ photography sessions and there is even an option for hosting the evening reception on the beach itself.
Returning to the hotel itself, I highly recommend making the most of the 20$ evening dinner meals, served to you on the beach. We experienced perhaps the best lobster we’ve ever tasted with accompanying wine.
After the sun rises, the huge hotel pool is a relaxing way to spend time whilst nibbling on snacks served from the garden. For the more adventurous, there is a shell-shaped, white-sand beach of over half a mile in length just 17km away from the hotel. Buses travel twice a day to the beach (named Guardalavaca) and its local market place, but to be more flexible choose to get a Cuban taxi – as we did – and enjoy an amazing experience in its own right in an incredible old car. Sipping fresh mint mojitos, something told me I’d be coming back again in the future.
Whilst at the hotel, I was kindly allowed to take two images of a wedding ceremony of the Playa Pesquero sands:
Over recent years, I have discovered, nurtured and established my photographic style to capture the truest moments.
If you want each image to tell a story, documentary photography is the answer and I would like to take these
